An incident...a couple of years ago.......... .... ..
.

Unforgettable..
''June, 2016. Mumbai, Maharashtra..
I was sailing from Mumbai to Elephanta, an attractive site of Indian cultural heritage.
I was absorbed in endless thoughts amidst the ceaseless waves of the sea....
The dedication and enthusiasm of my ancestors to attain glory in the cultural sphere made me feel so proud to be an Indian. I was deeply thinking about my country, my people and their hopes and aspirations for hours.
I started to feel as if I were at the centre of an emotional trench that carried me away to total unawareness like a child in a cradle.
Suddenly the sharp ring of my smart phone shattered the waves of thoughts and I woke me up instantly from the enchanting spell.
''Hello, is it Mr. Ranjan Ji ? I am Yashi Bharadwaj from Delhi. May I have the opportunity to take your interview in the National Channel, DDNews ? We h've come to know, you've sung a number of great songs in Sanskrit. We'd like to know about this unusual attempt of yours... Please tell me when you're coming to Delhi........ "'
I felt the sudden spurt of a current passing through me !!
Someone said, 'Your work always returns to you as blessings'. However, this opportunity also appeared as a blessing of God to me...
Destiny, perhaps, had chosen me as the one to stand at the heart of my country and spread the fragrance of a divine language through the great melodies of the legends of Indian music...from the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra to the coast of Indian Ocean....
I felt a sudden impulse of delight in me . The serene blue sky and the dark sea turned more appealing with extended vastness and the glowing gold as if only to greet me !
I did. I tried my best to do what they wanted and asked me to do...
I sang a number of immortal songs from Sankardeva, Rabindranath, Iqbal to Bhupen Hazarika along with a few of my own.
Next, I got another golden opportunity to present India's unofficial national song-- 'Sare Jahan Se Accha' in Sanskrit on the grand occassion of Independence day....which was telecast by DDNews, Delhi....
And the rest is history.
I just can't forget it . It will remain as a hidden treasure-trove of pleasure in me forever....!!!
