My view about Bhupen Da's music- in The Telegraph. 8-9-11
MY HUMBLE EXPERIMENT WITH THE THE GREAT MUSIC OF DR. BHUPEN HAZARIKA

  •  BHUPENDA'S SONGS SOUND GOOD IN SANSKRIT
  • 'Many of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s songs can easily be sung in Sanskrit. Bhupenda’s songs are research-  oriented. While translating his songs into Sanskrit, I have to be very careful with the words he uses,  given the nuances. The entire process of translating and making a song takes two to six months.
  • Translating Bhupenda’s songs into Sanskrit will help make them even more popular, especially in the southern parts of the country. I think the thrust and effect created by Bhupenda’s songs in Assamese can be retained in Sanskrit."
